When is the best time to visit Walt Disney World?

Of all the questions I’m asked about Disney, this is the #1 question for sure! Quickly followed by when is the *cheapest* time to visit Disney? And these answers actually go hand in hand!

Let’s talk about timing and start with the busiest times. Note to self: if one of these weeks/weekends is the only time you can make a Disney Trip work, I will absolutley help you navigate through the crowds but I don’t sugarcoat the craziness that can lie ahead if you’re at WDW during these times.

Times to Avoid

• MLK Weekend
• Presidents Day Weekend
• Spring Break (heaviest weeks tend to be 2nd week of March – mid April depending on Easter)
• Memorial Day Weekend
• July 4th
• Halloween
• Thanksgiving
• Christmas
• RunDisney weekends (check out the latest dates on RunDisney’s website)

I know those dates are usually most convenient with school breaks, but trust me, everyone and their grandma have the same idea. Plus, with peak crowds come peak prices. But fear not, we can tweak your travel plans just a tad to sidestep the masses and snag some savings!

Best Times to Visit

• January: After Marathon Weekend – before MLK Weekend OR after MLK Weekend through the end of January
• February: First 2 weeks
• May: First 2 weeks
• Summer: I know its hot, but the past couple summers have actually seen the lowest crowds compared to other seasons!
• August: Last 2 weeks (will still be hot but prices are low!)
• September: Entire month
• October: First 2 weeks
• November: First 2 weeks OR the week after Thanksgiving
• December: First 2 weeks

Like I said before, the prices typically match the projected crowds. So, if you’re hoping to do Disney on a budget, really sticking with the less busy times to visit is going to be your best bet to get the best deal!
